The PGA of America Archive Trophy

The PGA of America was founded in 1916 and is the largest working sports organization in the World, comprised of more than 27,000 men and women Professionals who are experts in growing, managing and teaching the game of Golf.

The PGA of America also organizes a number of tournaments including its flagship event, The PGA Championship, one of golf's four annual majors.  Other events include the Senior PGA Championship, the oldest event in senior golf and the PGA Grand Slam of Golf which brings together the seasons four Major Championship winners in a season ending head-to-head tournament.  The PGA of America also co-host the biennial Ryder Cup matches between the USA and Europe.

-Founded in 1916, when department store magnate Rodman Wanamaker believed golf professionals could enhance equipment sales if they formed an association.

-The PGA conducts a number of major events including the PGA Championship, Senior PGA Championship, PGA Grand Slam of Golf, and the biennial Ryder Cup.

-Rory McIlroy holds the record for the greatest winning margin of the PGA Championship in the stroke play era: 8 strokes, in 2012.

-Sam Snead has won the most PGA Senior Championships (6) while also winning 3 PGA Championships earlier in his career.
